The 2025 Westside BID renewal ballot returned a clear majority in favour of a third five-year term. By number of votes cast, 84% of participating businesses voted yes; by rateable value — the weighted measure required under BID legislation — the yes vote reached 87%. The exact figures, broken down by sub-area, are set out in the full ballot report available to download below.
Turnout was strong relative to comparable BID ballots, reflecting the level of engagement the team and the board achieved through the consultation and canvassing period. The ballot was administered independently by Electoral Reform Services in line with the BID Regulations 2004, and the result was confirmed and certified without challenge.
The outcome means Westside BID is formally authorised to collect the levy and operate the Business Plan 2025–2030 programme from 1 April 2025. Birmingham City Council issued the levy notices to all eligible hereditaments in the district shortly after the result was certified.
The BID board wishes to thank all members who took the time to vote. The result provides a clear mandate to deliver the improvements, services and investment set out in the business plan, and we are committed to reporting openly on progress throughout the term.
